Harrogate
Fabulous shopping, café culture, fine
cuisine, glorious gardens, graceful architecture and a glamorous
heritage as a classic European spa town – Harrogate’s
charm is irresistible.
In 2003 it was the winner of Britain in Bloom
and the following year won the European Entente Florale competition.
The Turkish Sauna Suite, Betty’s Café Tea Room
and Harlow Car Gardens are all worth a visit.
The Cedar Court Hotel is a lovely historic
grade II listed building that dates back to 1671. It overlooks
the 200 acre Stray parkland.
Ilkley
Sits in the beautiful Wharfe Valley and has
the famous Ilkley moor as a backdrop. Ilkley is definitely
one of the most picturesque towns in the country. Riverside
walks, Betty’s Café Tea Rooms, great restaurants
and bars all help to make Ilkley a real gem of a town.
The Craiglands is a fine hotel which sits
just below the Cow and Calf.
Skipton
Is known as the gateway to the Dales. Its surrounded by beautiful
scenery and is a pretty town to walk around. It also has a
brilliant castle – this unique fortress is one of the
most complete and well-preserved medieval castles in England.
The Rendezvous Hotel is modern, luxurious and well-equipped
and sits next to the canal just 10 minutes walk from the centre
of town.
York
Is England’s favourite city. It has retained so much
of its medieval structure that walking into it’s centre
is like entering a living museum. Cars are banned from the
centre and the many narrow, winding streets are a pleasure
to walk down.
York’s attractions are numerous. They include the Minster,
the Shambles, the City Walls, Whip-ma-Whop-ma Gate, the Castle
Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre, the National Railway Museum
and York’s ‘Eye’. York is fantastic, beautiful,
charming and friendly.
Great hotels include The Mount Royal Hotel,
The Royal Dean Court, The Hilton, Middlethorpe Hall and the
York Marriot.
